Coffee and snacks
With its first shop popping up in Minneapolis nearly 10 years ago, Bogart’s Doughnut Co. is located across the street and is an easy stop for a sweet treat — or grab a dozen to go to treat your visiting family or guests.
Gigi’s Cafe is just down the block and has become a favorite among our residents. This unique cafe boasts a curated selection of Minnesota artwork and often features artists and architects who live at Walker Place.
Isles Buns & Coffee
Nearly as famous as Lake of the Isles itself, Isles Buns & Coffee serves up sweet breakfast treats and coffee. Walk, drive, or ride your bike and pick up a treat before heading over to the lake.
Victor’s 1959 Cafe
For those who have lived in the neighborhood a while, you might remember Victor’s back when it was Rock’s ‘Ol Time Cafe. Since 1999, Victor’s has been a staple in South Minneapolis offering authentic Cuban food (and has been featured on several famous television shows).
New to the Minneapolis scene, Khâluna is a quaint, upscale restaurant serving Laotian dishes that connect Minneapolis culture with Southeast Asia. The restaurant also has a cooking studio, where you can take cooking classes and observe demonstrations from their lead chef. Plus, they have a unique and delicious happy hour.
Immerse yourself in French cuisine at Barbette. Voted as the “Best French Restaurant, populist vote” by Mpls. St. Paul Magazine, Barbette offers a wide selection of entrees crafted with locally farmed ingredients, as well as an extensive wine list.
Matt’s Bar is iconic across the U.S. and is located in the next neighborhood over from Walker Place. Home of the original juicy lucy, it’s a favorite stop for those who enjoy classic diner burgers and fries.
Seven Points in Uptown Minneapolis offers a wide selection of shopping, including Magers & Quinn Booksellers, Bay Street Shoes, Kitchen Window, and CB2. Grab whatever you need, from home décor to gifts and clothing.
A staple of Tangletown, Minneapolis, Tangletown Gardens is famous for its wide selection of plants and gifts. Stop by for a new house plant, subscribe to their CSA each summer, or have them help you plant an indoor plantscape.
Kyle’s market is a small urban corner convenience store down the street from Walker Place. Walk over for a few staples or grab a snack between grocery store trips.
Kowalski’s offers a premier grocery experience located right in the heart of Uptown. When you’d prefer to cook in your apartment instead of eating a meal cooked by our head chef, Kowalski’s has what you need.
For anything you need that requires a trip to a box store, Super Target in Richfield is a quick trip down Lyndale Avenue.
