Reducing the cost of your internet bill or receiving free internet services is now easier than ever!

Senior Planet’s Aging Connected program is transforming access to at-home internet for older adults around the country and world. Aging Connected is a national campaign aiming to bridge the digital divide and help older adults access essential public health information, social services, online community, and more through affordable, accessible internet.

Senior Planet members, and those new to seniorplanet.org, can use Aging Connected to learn more about the government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)—aimed at helping low income households pay for broadband service and internet connected devices—and begin their application to better understand what benefits might be available to them.

To date, some 42.5 percent (or 5.4 million) of the total (12.7 million) ACP sign-ups to date are 50+ households. Here’s a quick overview of ACP:

ACP Benefits

The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.

This quick tutorial and handout (available in English or Spanish)  are available and can be used to guide you through the application process or call (877) 745 – 1930 for more information.
