Distinctive Living sub-brand plans cottages

Live Well Senior Cottages, a sub-brand of Distinctive Living, recently announced that two projects for cottage units in Vineland and Winslow, New Jersey have received state approval to begin work at the sites.

Distinctive Living will serve as the managing partner and aims to compete in the middle market senior living space. Construction is expected to start this summer.

Florida project aims to meet affordable senior living demand

A mixed-use development in Miami, Florida, Sawyer’s Walk, with the housing component including the largest affordable senior living community in the U.S. “in the last decade,” a news release said.

The project is a partnership between SG Holdings, Swerdlow Group, SJM Partners and Alben Duffie and includes 1.5 million square feet with 175,000 square-feet for credit retailers, 578 housing units “predominantly low-income” senior housing.

Maplewood Senior Living nears opening of D.C. community

Maplewood Senior Living’s Inspir brand announced its Inspir Embassy Row community is set to open in December of this year.

The community is located in the Fairfax Hotel in Washington, D.C. and is currently under renovation while the structure will maintain its original character with modern amenities, the company said in a news release. The luxury senior living community features 174 private apartments, a variety of amenity spaces and offers assisted living and memory care.

Commonwealth Senior Living starts Virginia renovation

Commonwealth Senior LIving recently started a renovation project at Commonwealth Senior LIving at Manassas.

The community’s renovation includes the construction of a secure memory care neighborhood with its Sweet Memories programming, a new dining room, new fitness and therapy space, new activity room, along with apartments and public areas also being updated.

The community’s exterior will also be renovated. The project’s general contractor is DB3, a Virginia-based company. Construction of the memory care neighborhood is expected to be completed in late summer of this year.

Headwaters Group announces groundbreaking in Colorado

The Headwaters Group, a Denver, Colorado-based developer and real estate owner, announced a ground breaking on Aspendale Centennial, an active adult community in Centennial, Colorado.

The construction loan came from Live Oak Bank and equity from a programmatic institutional equity partner, the company said in a news release.

The community will be a four-story, wood-frame apartment community spanning a total of 203,653 square-feet. The property will house 172 units designed for residents 60 and older with a range of amenities. Amenities include extensive parking, fitness room, community garden, lap pool, spa and more.

A key part of the development is a two-story clubhouse with 9,757 square-feet of internal community amenity space. Units include modern furnishings, high ceilings, stainless steel appliances and more.

Construction is underway with pre-leasing starting in October of this year with the first units to be done in August 2025.

Arkansas community now open for HDG

Health Dimensions Group (HDG) announced the opening of Mira at Maumelle, a new senior living community, is now open.

The community offers independent living, assisted living and memory care services to residents. The community marks the 48th community managed by HDG.

Cogir Senior LIving, Ryan Companies US announce Colorado project opening

Cogir Senior Living and Ryan Companies US announced the opening of Acoya Cherry Creek, a senior living community in Denver, Colorado.

The community includes 137 apartments of independent and assisted living units. Units include residential kitchens, multiple dining venues, art room salon, club room, wellness area and an outdoor bar with view of the nearby Rocky Mountains.

Westmont Living opens fifth San Diego, Ca. community

Westmont LIving recently announced the opening of the company’s fifth community in San Diego, California with the opening of Westmont Living of Carmel Valley.

The 135,000 square-foot community includes two-storys in a Mediterranean-style construction with 101 apartment units in three layouts for independent living, assisted living and memory care. Accompanying the main project also are two-bedroom duplexes.

Shared amenities include a library, movie theater, heated exercise pool, fitness center with access to therapists and nurse support. Also included are outdoor patios with native plants, walkways and a community garden and pet park.

Resort Lifestyle Communities opens New Jersey community

Resort Lifestyle Communities recently announced the opening of Parkers Bend, a new active adult community in Moorestown, New Jersey.

The community offers 128 apartments with studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. Included monthly rent includes staff assistance, live-in managers, 24/7 emergency call system, appointment transportation, concierge services and valet parking.

Shared amenities include an in-house bank, business center, pharmacy, fitness center, game room, 150-seat theater, gift shop and salon. Other amenities include the 24-hour chef’s pantry, happy hour lounge, dining room, dining program with a variety of meal options, wellness programming and more.
